To the second question, yes it does. I realize that was missing when I wrote this month's bonus content.
For the first question, ranged is the skill for all explosive style weapons, while melee doesn't apply to working with such weapons. For the ability score, either one would have probably worked. I can see agility as part of the 'careful' handling of an explosive. Ranged is used because that is the default for ranged skill and explosives. But overall either one could have worked. I just chose instinct at the time.
